Three people are dead and two others injured following a horrific head-on collision on the Kyebi–Asikam road in the Eastern Region.
The accident occurred on Monday, August 10, involving a Toyota RAV4 (CR 657-21) and a Kia Picanto (GC 2066-19).
Personnel from the Kyebi Fire Station, who arrived at the scene around 3:30 p.m., discovered the RAV4 with extensive frontal damage and the Kia Picanto overturned in a ditch.
Firefighters, with assistance from bystanders, rescued two injured males and rushed them to the Kibi Government Hospital for treatment.
Tragically, three occupants of the Kia Picanto were pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest the driver of the RAV4 lost control, veered into oncoming traffic, and collided head-on with the Kia Picanto.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
