Mr Patrick Fiable, Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Chief Executive (DCE), has commissioned seven mechanised boreholes and two hand pumps water project, as part of the Assembly efforts to improve access to clean and safe drinking water in the district.
The beneficiary communities include Nyameyeadom, Betimore, Twifo Hemang, Fantefuom, Shed, Kwekukrom, Antwikwaa, Kweku Dadzie and Bekawpa.
Mr Fiable at a symbolic commissioning at Nyameyeadom, noted that the provision of potable water to the communities had brought big relief to the people who hitherto had to struggle to get water for their daily activities.
He admonished the communities to make good use of the facility and regularly maintain them.
He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to extend the project to other deprived areas to address the water and sanitation needs of the people.
Nana Koomson I, Odikro of Fantefuom, on behalf of the beneficiary communities thanked the DCE and the District Assembly for the projects and pledged to periodically maintain the water facilities to prolong their lifespan.
