Two arrested as Bono East Police seize GH¢107,000 worth of cannabis

Two suspects are in custody following a major drug bust along the New Longoro-Weila road on Saturday.

The Bono East Regional Police Command intercepted an unregistered Toyota Highlander transporting 166 parcels of suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of GH¢107,000.

The suspects, Sadie Wemah, 42, and Senbeti Karim, 39, were apprehended during a routine patrol.

Upon interrogation, the duo reportedly admitted to purchasing the narcotics from a supplier known as “Edem” (alias “Confirm”), with plans to sell the haul in Banda Nkwanta.

The police have impounded the vehicle and the exhibits while a manhunt is underway for the supplier, who is believed to be transporting drugs from the Volta Region.
