A symbolic laying of a foundation stone, to signify the start of construction for the National Cathedral, is expected to happen today.

The ceremony, which will take place in Accra, will have the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo lay the foundation stone at Ridge in Accra.

According to the Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the board was still receiving pledges and monies from donors toward the construction.

He says the legal challenges would not stop the project.

“We have won three cases in the Supreme Court,” he asserted, adding, “the Cathedral will surely be built.”

He also added that two more buildings still standing on the site, the Passports office and the Malian Embassy would soon go down, explaining that the Malian building has diplomatic implication so they are going through the processes.
