Customers of defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold, will once again be let down by the company in relation to the payment of their investments.
Menzgold on Wednesday, announced it was starting payment to customers from Friday, December 27th, 2019, for a 36 -month period. The company thus directed its lawyers to ensure this was done.
In the statement released by Menzgold, signed by its Head of Communications, Nii Armah Amarteifio, it said, since the assets of the company, including its bank accounts, are frozen, its lawyers will come to an agreement with all customers to determine the best way to initiate payment.
Lawyers of the firm, Kwame Akuffo & Co, has however released a statement, stating Menzgold does not have the capacity to carry out any payment exercise.
The statement said, “the firm has informed the Client [Menzgold] that it does not have the CAPACITY to carry out the said exercise.”
“The firm is, therefore, unable to accept instructions in that regard,” the statement added.
The law firm has, instead, advised Menzgold to “instruct a third-party entity to carry out the instructions in respect of the above mentioned.”
