Unidentified body recovered in Alogboshie as Accra flood death toll rises

By News1

A yet-to-be-identified body has been recovered in the Alogboshie area of Accra, adding to the death toll as floodwaters from Monday’s torrential rains continue to recede across the capital.

The discovery was made on Wednesday, July 1, in what appears to be a grim extension of the devastation caused by the downpour, which submerged major roads, displaced residents, and paralysed traffic for hours.

While the exact circumstances surrounding the individual’s death remain under investigation, the recovery brings renewed attention to the human cost of the flooding.

This latest recovery adds to the 12 flood-related fatalities already confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service, raising concerns that the final death toll may climb further as search and assessment efforts continue in affected communities.

Authorities have not yet released any information on the identity or possible cause of death, and residents are being urged to exercise caution as clean-up operations get underway.
